My family and I are considering a 3 night stay at the Biltmore villas in late June. We plan to take a day to explore Asheville then spend the other 2 days exploring outlying areas (which are yet to be determined). I like the idea of staying in Asheville as opposed to Black Mountain or other areas due accessibility to shops (for my 12 yr old daughter) and the many restaurant choices for dinner. Can we walk from these villas to any restaurants and/or shops? What is the area like surrounding the villas? Am I wrong about there being enough restaurant choices in Black Mountain?

You would do better to stay in Asheville vs. Black Mountain. (nothing wrong with Black Mountain :O) )
Biltmore Villas. I have not personally seen Biltmore Villas, but from what hear, they are nice and should be within walking distance of Biltmore Village. There are numerous shops and restaurants to keep you and daughter entertained. PLUS you are close enough to downtown if you choose to do downtown.
