Looking for family beach vacation with teen/college student.

Would like suggestions for a nice hotel/resort that would have beach access, pool, restaurants, but also something for adults who do not want sun. Need beach activities for 17 and 19 year olds. Just cannot tell from sites I have visited. Have looked at Wild Dunes, but not sure there would be anything for teens.

Also looked at Sea Island, which seemed a little much for a teen/family vacation.

I think you will find a ';one place fits all'; here difficult to find. The area is family oriented and the ocean is the draw. Laying in the sun doing nothing appeals to most that come here, but sitting at the house watching tv appeals to many as well. If money is no object, Sanderling might be your best bet, but its expensive. Barrier Island is a resort that might be worth a look in Duck, I would avoid the one in Kitty Hawk. Most people come and go out to golf, putt-putt, movies, go karts, lazer tag, play tourist at Jockies Ridge, aquarium, air port, kayak, etc.

The Outer Banks is mostly single family homes on or near the beach although there is plenty to do here but not many resorts. Mose people that come here rent a home for a week.

Lots of water sports, fishing, and history here. but you make your own activity%26#39;s. this site might help you understand the Outer Banks better
