Town Proximities

How close are the towns in the Outer Banks? Obvioulsy some are closer to each other than others but it appears by well the only maps that i have encountered that Kill Devil hills and Nags Head actually look pretty close. P.s. I do realize the map is not to scale.

Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk are more or less just a continuation of the same megalopolis on sand. Like different sections of the same beach town.

Town Proximities

The towns touch each other and each is about 5 miles long. Duck to Southern Shores to Kitty Hawk to Kill Devil Hills to Nags Head and each are about 5 miles, going north to south.

Google maps and Google earth are good real time utilities to help also gauage distance. If you want to see rental houses and know the address, check out the mapping utility on http://www.yellowpages.com/maps

You can zoom into a 3D Birds Eye view of the area you are looking to rent and possibly see where you are in realation to the ocean or sound, shopping, areas of interest etc.

To also provide prospective, once you come in from rte 158 and hit 12 North you are right in Southern Shores From their about 10-15 min to Duck and 20 miles to Corolla which is a good 30 minutes without traffic.

This is to my knowledge as we have always stayed north in Duck/Corolla/Ocean Sands. Also we have never ventured South of Manteo or Southern Nags Head

That is not correct. The distance from the split at Rt158 and Ocean Blvd at Kitty Hawk near the Hilton up to Duck town line is only 3.5 miles, not 10-15. It might seem to you like 10-15 but it isn%26#39;t. Corolla will take you 30 min in the off-season and easily 1 hr on a Saturday in July.

Thank you very much you guys are great it may be a mute point as we ar very responsible and clean and wuld treat anyone%26#39;s place with the utmost respect but I underestimated what it would cost to rent for 1 week by a ton o money. I wanted to include family so a large house for 15+ people was what i needed and i have an 11lb shitzu who is very very well trained and woudl prefer oceanfront but did not want to be greey on that point but all i have to spend to cover eveyone due to economy my husband and i were going to cover the house fee. I we have to spend the most is $3,000 silly me. Thanks anyway and if you personally have that big a hosue and want to earn 3k let me knwo what week is good LOL just kidding but if you do hear of anyone wanting to rent for a week in that price maybe you%26#39;ll remember me and my family. Thanks again you have been so kind! If we did get there it woudl be nice to treat you to a beer, coffee beverage of some type!
