Beach Umbrella/Tent recommendation

We have been going to OBX since 2003 and are completely hooked. Thankful that the current status of the economic downturn did not prevent us from booking this year for July in Duck. My question is what do you recommend as far as sun coverage. We have gone through the umbrellas but inevitably the wind gust at the beach breaks the umbrella. I have yet to master the combination of product and positioning in the sand to help protect agains the wind and rays.

Does anyone recommend any kind of beach tent and/or umbrella that is semi wind resistant and can provide shade to 3-4 people simultaneously?

Many thanks in advance and I%26#39;d rather be in OBX now

Beach Umbrella/Tent recommendation

We got one last year and love it but we drive onto the beach and I use budgie cords to tie it off to my truck if you cannot do that try to find some sand spikes to hold it down. found in a camping store or out doors place Yeah you do need to tie it down also can use buckets of water to tie it off .

A square canopy works best. Get one that is assembled and ready to pop into position. Do not get one that requires you to assemble the poles. You can find them at Target, sporting goods stores, etc. Stake it down and it is very wind resistant. It will provide plenty of shade for your group. Just be sure to take it down each night. You don%26#39;t want the beach patrol to drive into it and you don%26#39;t want an unexpected overnight storm to turn it into a twisted flying pile of metal.

thank you

Dicks Sporting Goods Sell these too - like the previous poster said - get the ones that just pop up (maybe about $20 bucks more) but more durable, easier and worth it.

Plus there are great sales going on right now for Memorial Day! Good luck.
