My wife and I are goin to the 2009 Quail Hollow Championship and are looking for suggestions for dining in Charlotte. I think we%26#39;ve already decided on Penguin as a must, but would like recommendations for a moderately priced ';nice'; restaurant and a couple winery suggestions close to Charlotte.

Not sure what you would consider moderately priced, but a new tapas restaurant opened recently called Good Food on Montford. It is not traditional Spanish tapas, but everything we tried was excellent. And for 4 of us with a lot of wine and cocktails it was around $60 or 70 each with tip.

Anniversary weekend getaway
As far as Vineyards go, Raffaldini in the Yadkin Valley is our favorite. Great setting w/ Blue Ridge mountains in the backdrop, rolling hills, and award winning wine. There are many vineyards in that area. Probably about 1 1/2 hours north of Charlotte. There are some closer to Charlotte, but none as scenic. This might help...visitncwine.com
