We will be going to the outer banks in July for the first time. We will be coming from North Jersey and meeting my brother-in-laws family in Richmond VA, for two days, then off to Williamsburg for two days and then to the Outer Banks for 4-5 days, then head back North and to break up the trip we will stop off at Cape May. I have a 12 and 15 year old. Can someone suggest which part of the Outer Banks to stay in? Also, it looks as if we can%26#39;t rent a home for a partial week, so are there any motel/hotel recommendations?

Probably the Kitty Hawk, Nag%26#39;s Head area is the best for a few days. More sites, restuarants, attractions beside the beach to keep them busy.

You are correct, most rentals are for a week or more. There are many hotels, do a search on this site or give us a price range you are looking for.

My Brother-in-law mentioned Nags Head. I%26#39;ll doe a hotel search. Just curious - what are the differences between Virginia Beach and Outer Banks? Everyone keeps telling us how beautiful the Outer Banks are, but I just realized how close Virginia Beach was to Williamsburg.
