Driving on the beach

Hello my family and i are vacationing in Carova beach in june and we were wondering if a 1999 GMC Sierra can make it on the beach with highway tires as long as the psi is lowered to 20. Another thing is that we have friends coming to visit us for the week, but they drive a sedan. Is there a parking lot before the road ends where they can park their vehicle for the week?

I am not a car expert-but does the Sierra have 4 wheel drive?

There is a neighborhood area at the end of the road where you may be able to park. I can%26#39;t recall a parking lot-has been 2 years since I was up that direction, hopefully someone else can help.

Hi bigbrad88 and welcome to the forum! You will definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. There have been a lot of discussions regarding driving to and in Carova in this forum. Type in ';Carova'; in the search box and scroll through for lots of advice on navigating the area. You will need to lower the psi to about 20. Here are some links to information on the area...

As far as parking, you might want to contact your realtor and ask them if your friends can park in their lot.
