Dollywood vs. Carrowinds?

We live not far from Dollywood and normally get season passes. How does Carrowinds compare to Dollywood? My kids are 7 and 9 - wondering if it would be a nice alternative.

Thanks,

KC

Dollywood vs. Carrowinds?

I%26#39;ve been to both. I think Dollywood is head and shoulders above Carowinds. But - your kids, the ages they are, will probably enjoy it. It%26#39;s geared toward them. It will be a nice change of pace. Best wishes.

Dollywood vs. Carrowinds?

I have been to both and I am going to disagree with the PP. Sorry PP.

I enjoyed Dollywood and it is very pretty and nice and all of that but it is small with not many rides or rollercoasters. While as Carowinds offers many more rides and rollercoasters. Kind of like more bang for the buck.

For younger kids, Carowinds is nice enough.

You have a kids section - I think it is Nickelodeon Central now - and you also have the waterpark (Boomerang Bay). There are also ';family'; rides like the bumper cars, log ride, swings and such. Not a lot, but there are some.

A lot of the park is devoted to more ';grown up'; rides like roller coasters. It%26#39;s a decent regional park, but don%26#39;t expect Disney World. It will probably be better for them when they are a bit older and can ride more of the rides.

Take a look at the attractions section of the site to see what they have this year, and you should be able to get a good idea of your options.

The season pass for Carowinds is pretty good as well, especially for a family, as it includes parking ($10 last year) and Scarowinds (nearly $30). If you go twice it pays for itself, and those are nice bonuses.

The discounted pass isn%26#39;t nearly as worthwhile, however, as you don%26#39;t get parking or Scarowinds, and you only save a few bucks on each pass. Not sure if they are still offering them, but they were for a while.
