Most scenic route from Louisville in a day?

Driving from Bardstown area and staying for 2 nights near Hendersonville. Most direct route seems to be about 5 or 6 hours and wondering if any suggestions re taking Blue Ridge Parkway from Boone area and how long a drive that would be - seems to be about 4 hours to reach there from KY and can%26#39;t get a good sense of how long drive from Boone access to Parkway would take to get to Hendersonville.

I will have 2 full days in Hendersonville area and wondering if best to head straight there and then take a day to explore parts of Parkway after landing. I understand parts of Parkway are closed due to fire and rockslide so any information regarding how that could affect drive or sightseeing also appreciated.

I have suggestions via Asheville posting on what to see in area such as Biltmore estate and would like to take tour of downtown Asheville. However if weather nice more interested in seeing beauty of countryside. Trip will be early June weekend.

It is about 2-2.5 hours from Boone/Blowing Rock to Asheville, so I would figure a fairly easy 3 hours to Hendersonville, throwing in a few stops along the way. Starting in Blowing Rock, worthwhile stops might include Cone Manor, Grandfather Mountain Biosphere, Linville Falls, and the craft center just NE of Asheville. If you are in H%26#39;ville on Saturday, check out the farmer%26#39;s market.

Many thanks for this as the 3 hours via Parkway would seem to make going this route a doable day%26#39;s drive from Bardstown or a doable day trip from Hendersonville and will check out Farmer%26#39;s Market.
